Life in the backseat.

Firstly, I have to appologize.

As I noted last week, my attention has been severely redirected these last few months. I don’t want to eat, or travel, or ride, or anything. I just want to finish the current body of work for an upcoming show, the opening for which was confirmed this weekend, so pencil in Portland, Oregon for June 1st. It’s the first solo show I’ve had in a decade. There have been a number of group shows in the interim, but nothing by myself. The reasons, if anyone cares, is multi-fold, but mainly because I haven’t finished a consistent and complete body of work in that long, and also because the last five years can suck my nuts. Losing my partner, home, shop, and studio has proven difficult to recover from, and as I only again got a proper work space this past fall, I’d say Ive got cause for a little personal celebration. As it becomes available, more news will be forthcoming.

As always, thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.

So stick any of that in your pipe and smoke it, or don’t, and let’s get onto other matters.

Firstly, I’ll post this photo I shot several years ago of Sean Walling riding his Groundskeeper in a place where he maybe oughtn’t;

There is a gravel and adventure biking FB page of which I’m a member, and against my better judgment, I posted this photo the other day, and naturally, Freds came out of the woodwork to tell me all about how gravel bikes are different than cross bikes.

There are two pages I follow (this one and a home mechanics page/Example one, and example two) where I am constantly about a half a breath from deleting the feed. If bottled, the absolute banal minutia know-it-all diarrhea nonsense that exists there could power the world.

Now, just as I predicted last week, a Swampiest supercut is finally available, and I love it just as much as I thought I would;

I wonder what it would take to get an AHTBM feature included next year?

Moving on, and as it relates to my newly reclaimed single life, I reached out to Shanna at Endless to check into whether or not she was still in the business of making cool cogs, which she said she was, so a deal was made, and one has been shipped;

As much as I liked swapping my 17 to a 20, I’m thinking now that I’m in the twilight of my life, a 21 might be the way to go, so it will be done.

If you yourself might find yourself in the market for a well made cog made by a well made person, look no further than Endless Shanna.

Now, for a dip into the mail bag, here’s sone goods from Brammy;

We’re all gonna live forever.

Real quick, before the curtain falls on today’s effort, (if one could call it that), I would like to remind folks that I still have a batch of key leashes on hand and ready to ship;

The reason I think to bring this up today is because one of my oldest leashes finally shit its bed last night. This, despite the fact that I hot glued a blob around the grommet/clasp. (I also encourage filks to fire on a piece of heat shrink around the same joint).

Truthfully and regardless, they aren’t built to last forever.

If you throw your key on and take it off your wrist a couple thousand times, the elastic in leash will eventually begin to fail, and that’s simply a sad fact of life.

Luckily they’re only $6.00.

Anyway, I replaced my old goldie and now I’m good to go for another 1,999 cycles.

And now, before I go it’s my distinct pleasure to present to you the 116th episode of Revolting;

Good Christ, we’re getting good at this.

Leave it to us to make room for being single in the backseat.
